Awaken Your Senses Tour ~ October 18-25, 2019

"One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." ~ Henry Miller

If you’re like most Americans, you’ve dreamed about a trip to Europe. Or if you’ve already been, you dream about returning. There’s just a deep connection between Americans and our European  roots.

But too often, these trips feature busy itineraries that leave you exhausted and needing a vacation from your vacation when you return home.

Our ‘Awaken Your Senses’ tour is not that.

Imagine . . .  seven days in a European country where you weren’t constantly on the move, waiting in lines to see what everyone else is seeing, or spending all of your time with other tourists rather than rubbing shoulders with people who actually live there.

Imagine . . .  brief excursions that introduce you to beautiful places, new experiences and delicious meals.

Imagine . . .  a pace of a trip where you had the freedom to stop and sketch, write in your journal, or pick up a colorful leaf and stow it away between the pages of your journal for a sketch study later.

Imagine . . .  staying in a Belgian villa in the country where you could breakfast on made-that-morning croissants, lunch on sandwiches made with fresh baguettes and dine on local and international cuisine in the evenings.

Imagine . . .  a wine tasting one evening, a chocolate party the next, an exotic Persian meal prepared by a local family, and a piano concert by a master.

These are just some of the things we’re dreaming about making happen during our ‘Awaken Your Senses Tour’ scheduled for October18th - 25th, in Brussels, Belgium!

Here are the details we’ve put together so far:

After arriving in Brussels on Tuesday, October 2, every day will be full of experiences designed to awaken your senses and inspire you to create.

We’ll awaken our sense of wonder by stepping back in time and exploring such places as:

A medieval abby, just south of Brussels
The magnificent Grand Place in Brussels
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and perfectly preserved medieval city

A boat cruise down a wonderland of waterways

A few day trips to cities close by with beautiful scenery

We’ll awaken our sense of epicurean delights while we enjoy:

Dining in a traditional Belgian restaurant in historic Waterloo
Experiencing a quaint Greek restaurant in the breathtaking Grand Place
Breakfast in our favorite Belgian coffee shop with fresh bread, jams and other specialties
Indulging in Belgian Frites, Beer, Waffles and Chocolate (We’ll even take you to an all-you-can-taste chocolate factory!)

And we’ll awaken our sense of all things beautiful during:

A tranquil walk down winding country lanes south of Waterloo
A stroll through a nearby forrest

A photo-op among ancient ruins

A day in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe

A boat cruise down the canals of a perfectly preserved medieval city

A time for long conversations over European coffee
